Mothers in the Peten

Proverbs 31:30 states "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised." It is amazing how mothers all over the world are caregivers. Being in Peten I have seen how wanted and unwanted children are treated. How other women take responsibilities for other peoples children. They sacrificed their meals for these kids. Experiencing the death of a beautiful baby boy born with a congenital heart defect and not having the technology to save him was heartbreaking. I spent the first 2 hours of his life bagging him so he could breathe. He lived for 6 hours b/c there were no vents available at the national hospital. It was a painful situation for the parents.I was amazed when the OB/GYN offered the patient a sedative and the patient replied "let me hurt" I was hurting for her even more.That night i cried myself to sleep.

Here it is so tough to be a mother. There are so many young mothers! It is legal for a 13 year old to be married. They become mostly victims of abuse. Publicly women are sexual objects. I realized this at a fair Chris was debating to take me..I was angry.There were 3 young ladies on display the youngest was 6.5 yrs old and the other 2 were under 15. They were dancing like strippers and the main sponsor was a Christian school. I was going to jump on the stage and say to everyone what are we teaching these girls? What stopped me was the cops on my right and Chris reminding me foreigners are mistreated in the prisons.Food for thought women are naturally caregivers and that is a part of God's personality. Let us praised all the women in your life from all ages. Let us also pray for God's covering over all them and the little ones around the world.I am honored to have become a mother to many here already!  Feliz Dia de Madre! Happy mother's day!
